Our Story

The Edmonton Baseball League began in 2021 as a grassroots initiative under the Edmonton Sandlot Baseball Society, born from a simple idea: baseball should be fun, accessible, and open to everyone. Inspired by the unstructured, joyful spirit of sandlot ball, our founders wanted to create a league where players could enjoy the game without the pressure of elite competition—while still keeping it engaging for those who love a little rivalry.

In those early days, games were all about camaraderie—no strict uniforms, no intense standings, just pure love for the sport. Players of all backgrounds and skill levels took the field, learning from each other and forming a tight-knit baseball community.

As the league grew, so did our vision. In 2024, we rebranded as the Edmonton Baseball League to reflect our expanding reach while staying true to our roots. Today, we continue to blend the laid-back sandlot vibe with just the right amount of competition to keep games exciting. Whether you’re picking up a glove for the first time or reliving your glory days, EBL is where players come together to share laughs, make memories, and play the game we all love.
